WASTE MONSTER SERVICES LTD WHAT YOU CAN & CAN’T PUT IN A SKIP

At Waste Monster Services Ltd, we aim to keep skip hire simple, safe, and compliant.
Please read the information below carefully before loading your skip to avoid additional charges or collection delays.

✅ WHAT CAN GO IN A SKIP

Our skips are suitable for general non-hazardous waste, including:

Accepted Waste Types

✅ Wooden furniture (tables, wardrobes, cabinets – no upholstery)
✅ Metal waste (scrap metal, bed frames, non-hazardous appliances)
✅ Garden waste (grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, leaves, branches)
✅ General household waste (bagged rubbish and non-hazardous items)
✅ Textiles, clothing and bedding (duvets, sheets, covers, clothing)
✅ Cardboard waste and packaging (boxes, cartons, recyclable packaging)

✅ Soil and Brick (Construction waste)

🚫 WHAT CANNOT GO IN A SKIP

Certain items are prohibited due to safety, environmental legislation, and disposal restrictions.

🛑 POPs Waste (Upholstered Furniture) — NOT ACCEPTED

The following items are classed as POPs waste and must not be placed in skips:

❌ Sofas
❌ Armchairs
❌ Padded dining chairs
❌ Office chairs
❌ Upholstered stools or seating
❌ Any furniture containing foam, padding, or fabric

❌ ADDITIONAL PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following must not be placed into skips under any circumstances:

❌ Mattresses
❌ Fridges and freezers
❌ Gas bottles or cylinders
❌ Tyres
❌ Asbestos or suspected asbestos materials
❌ Paints, oils, or liquid waste
❌ Chemicals and hazardous pollutants
❌ Batteries (including lithium-ion)
❌ Electrical waste (WEEE items)
❌ Plasterboard
❌ Clinical or medical waste

✅ WE HAVE ALTERNATIVE DISPOSAL OPTIONS

Some of the above items can still be collected safely using our Van Collection Service.

If you are unsure about any item, contact us before loading your skip and our team will advise on the correct disposal solution.

⚠️ SKIP LOADING RULES

To avoid extra charges:

• Do not overfill the skip
• Waste must not exceed the top edge
• Load waste evenly
• No loose or hanging items
• Additional charges apply for prohibited materials, misloads, or contaminated waste
